Moyers Says it Best

Others have weighed in on gun control in this country.  Mayors Against Illegal Guns, Mayors Michael Bloomberg and Tom Menino, MoveOn.org, Charles Blow, but Bill Moyers says it best – “The NRA is the best friend a killer’s instinct ever had.”

When will we wake up and take action to control deadly violence in our midst?

  1. Mr. Romney believes, and has said that we cannot control guns, we have to change “the hearts” of Americans. Really? How will that be achieved? Control how people get ammunition and guns and what kind of guns are allowed and what can be obtained on the Internet. I am so tired of how much support the 2nd amendment has in relation to ANY of the other Constitutional Amendments!!!

I believe that was actually the change on which Obama based his initial campaign … Hope and Change in the hearts of Americans. So far heʻs set an amazing example of how we should be behaving. Itʻs up to us to follow that example. Are we up to it? Weʻll see in November.

The Second Amendment folks need to re-read, and possibly try to grasp the concept of a “Well-Regulated” militia (which, btw, we no longer have … since the creation of the military services abolished the need for a militia, but we KNOW theyʻre not capable of going there!).

      • Ron West says:

Oh please what part of “Shall not be infringed” do you not understand. Our forefathers knew there were tyrannical narcissistic blowhards who didn’t have the capacity for abstract thought, the only one that can’t go there? I just described.

        • Ron West says:

          Oops, I forgot … Romney 2012 !

        • OK Ron! You can have ALL the weapons available when our founding fathers wrote the second amendment…

          Muskets and musket balls..OK?

What part of “well regulated” militia do you not understand?

        • so you dont want the second amendment , ok the next nut dont want the first amendmen ,or lets get rid of the 5 amendment this it what it says !! No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation so when you take the one you dont like then what ?? The second amendment wasnt put in there for people to only hunt it was put in there to PROCTECT them selfs againt bad people and BAD GOVERMENT what parts of the U. S. Constitution do you want to get rid of
          .

  2. Ron West says:

I think people who try and infringe our 2nd amendment rights need to go to jail. Without armed American citizens there is no free world. Like Rham told Holder, STFU!

    • I am so tired of how much support the 2nd amendment has in relation to ANY of the other Constitutional Amendments!!!

      • Burroughston Broch says:

Monica, the 2nd Amendment has less support than the 1st Amendment. Find something else to be tired about.

  3. Nature Guy says:

If most Americans saw things my way, anybody in the U.S. would be permitted to own & possess 1 (maybe two) hunting rifles…..and that would be it. And the hunting rifles would be tightly sold & licensed. All other firearms would be forbidden & possession and/or use of any other kinds of firearms would be a felony.

    • so you dont like US Contitution and want to change it
the2nd Amendmentwas put in there just in case someone like you got in officeor another nut and try to take the rights of Americans away not only to hunt to protect our selfs form nuts , bad people and out of control tyrannical Governments

  4. Marla Hill says:

Can anyone TRULY believe that the 2nd Amendment contemplated assault rifles in the hands of anyone with a mouse and a credit card? Utterly ridiculous.

  5. Ronald Burke says:

Another good reason for a Dis-Like button on Facebook. This compilation of distortions, fiction and outright lies is typical when the truth is inconvenient.
